Texaco Service Station Experience

Visit the service bay of the Texaco Service Station and try your hand at being a mechanic as you diagnose, assemble, inspect, maintain, test and repair various components throughout the exhibit. This interactive area is geared toward young learners, and enjoyable for guests of all ages and abilities.
Adult and child participate in color activity in the Museum

Tinkering for Tots

  • Near Driving America, across from Driven to Win: Racing in America
  • Oct-May | Second Tuesday of each month
  • 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Little learners get hands-on, minds-on at Tinkering for Tots — a program designed for curious preschoolers to develop an innovative mindset and make connections through storytelling, play, artifact exploration and a take-home STEAM activity kit.

About this exhibit

From the oldest surviving American automobile and Henry Ford's first gas-powered vehicle to the hybrid 2002 Prius, our Driving America exhibit helps to tell the story of how automotive innovations have changed our lives and influenced American culture. On your journey, you’ll also encounter more than a dozen interactive kiosks that will engage, inform and inspire.
